God's Own Canvas - Goa

Image
God has blessed Goa with many treasures. Goan culture -  a blend of Portuguese & Indian cultures, extremely warm people of Goa,  Goan Cusiene, many beautiful & historic Churches....  But the most precious treasure is what the Mother Nature has given to Goa .... its beautiful & breathtaking landscapes.  Trip to Goa is a refreshing and exciting break from the day-to-day routines of life. Stunn ing beauty and fresh air at beaches of Goa  are a cure for stressful mind and time spend at a beach will be remembered with fondness forever.  Such is the scenic beauty of the place that even an amateur photographer like me can boast of  the memorable landscape photos clicked here ....

Visit to Chapora Fort, Goa

Ye Dil Mange More .... Our visit to Goa was coming to an end & we had to drive nearly 500 Kilometers to Pune, however a child inside me was insisting to have one more treat before we cross the border of Goa & hence a brief excursion to Chapora Fort was finalised in the eleventh hour. To reach to the fort we had to take a steep climb of 300-400 meters, but all the fatigue simply vanished as once you get inside you get to see the GORGEOUS views!  So although there wasn't much to do inside the fort, but oh man, some of the most spectacular views you could see of the Arabian Sea and nearby beaches I had seen anywhere in Goa.   To sum up visit to the fort was a "Dil Chahta Hai" moment for us (famous movie Dil Chahta Hai filmed here).

Visit to Fort Aguada, Goa

Scorching heat of May and more than 50 kilometer distance from Caravela Beach Resort, were the reasons compelling enough to convince us not to venture outside the cozy environment of the resort. However, the fact that "the Fort Aguada" is one of the most famous tourist destination in Goa having almost an iconic status with many Bollywood movies (likes of Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Dil Chahta Hai,Golmal series) being filmed there and being a history buff myself, we finally decided that when in Goa we should definitely not miss the opportunity to visit this place of historical and cultural importance. Constructed by the Portuguese in early 17th Century with an aim to control the movements through the waters of river Mandavi, from here one may see the vast expanse of ‘seeming to be endless’ blue waters of Arabian Sea in front of it. The place is excellent for sightseeing and also that it stands as a testimony to the glory of Portuguese empire. Right adjacent to Fort Aguada
