Amrita Dalal : A Sitar Exponent

Born into an affluent industrial family & grown up in an environment promoting Indian Classical Music, Mrs Amita Dalal is Arts Graduate from St. Xavier's Ahmedabad. 

Deeply immersed in the music of sitar, the talented Amita Dalal (born 18 October 1958) is a name to reckon with. She has received her training from Vidushi Manju Mehta, a sitarist par excellence and founder member of Saptak School of music. Also simultaneously Amita has received dynamic guidance from the Grammy Award winner Pt. Vishwamohan Bhatt.

Amita has performed and enthralled audiences world over through her mesmerizing performances on several noteworthy occasions like Moscow Olympics , Prince Carl theatre in
Germany and England, Japan etc., In India at Haridas Sammelan, Sankat Mochan Festival atBanaras, NCPA theatre in Mumbai, and at all annual Festivals of Saptak and at the prestigiousVile Parle Music Circle in Mumbai, recently she was invited by Auroville to perform for threedays festival. She has also performed in Bangkok for WORLD MUSIC DAY along with Pt. Vishwamohan Bhatt.

Amita has performed recently at Montecarlo Casino Terraces, in Rome at Gardens of Philaharmonica and at the Reitbrrg Museum in Zurich.

Her immense contributions in the field of Indian Classical Music not only has made her famous but a recipient of several awards.
